All Your Pride Questions, Answered!
June is Pride month! It's a time to celebrate all the great things about being LGBTQ, stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ community, and acknowledge how far we've come & the work that lies ahead.
After your kid comes out and Pride rolls around, you’re bound to have some questions, from “what is this?” to “why does it matter?” to “is my kid old enough to attend?” So, we’ve compiled sone commonly asked Pride-related questions so you can educate yourself about all things Pride!
Also check out Know Your Queer History, a series we’re putting together in celebration of Pride month to highlight LGBTQ activists, artists, and politicians who have moved mountains and fought like hell for our right to exist in the world. We hope you take some time to learn a little bit more about LGBTQ history, and share the information with your kid and your community as well!
Finally, don’t forget that our 6th Annual All-Ages Pride Party is happening THIS SATURDAY in NYC! We started this event to create an alcohol-free space for young people to celebrate Pride, listen to LGBTQ artists, and share space together. This year, the party is sponsored by The Tegan & Sara Foundation, and will feature spoken word by Urban Word NYC and music by Julia Weldon and Emily Wells! If you live in or near NYC, we would LOVE to see you there!!
Happy Pride! 🌈❤️🌈
